Taking a pair of scissors to a perfectly good secondhand quilt feels a little sacrilegious… 😱 BUT I believe it’s often better to give a quilt a second chance to be appreciated, rather than rescuing it from the thrift store just to let it gather dust.

It looks to be made handmade using fabric scraps, which means that its maker was already being resourceful! I thrifted it and used it as a tablecloth for my booth, before gaining the courage to cut into it. That means that these shorts are created with fabric that’s actually on its third or fourth “chance”. Each scrap came from somewhere, and it makes me happy to think about all the stories between the seams.✨
