Acorns and Butterflies Upcycled Dress, 52” Chest

This dress was a labor of love, and a collaboration across decades.
I was inspired by two hand-embroidered acorn pillowcases with intricate crochet trim — those pillowcases became the sleeves!
The rest of this dress is made from repurposed fabric, including handmade quilt blocks and a hand-embroidered panel featuring lemons and butterflies.
It also features two side-seam pockets and bodice lining, hand-sewn by me.
This dress is one of my most favorite creations, and represents my work combined with that of three other fiber artists, most likely women. I’m excited to have given a second life to these folks’ beautiful craftsmanship. 🤎
